Pakistan is still waiting for visas less than 48 hours before travelling to India

The PCB has voiced its severe concern to the ICC about the delay in issuing visas to the Pakistan squad and has warned of the negative impact on the team's World Cup preparations. The crew was supposed to leave Pakistan early Wednesday morning, but visas had not been given as of the end of business on Monday.

The PCB has asked the ICC in an email what steps the global body intends to take to resolve the issue, as well as whether, in accordance with the obligations of a host board, written confirmations have been provided by the BCCI - or on behalf of the Indian government - that visas will be issued to all participating nations. The ICC was notified by the BCCI in July at its annual conference in Durban that visas for the Pakistan contingent will be made available in due course. It was unclear whether this was documented in writing.

Pakistan is scheduled to fly out to Dubai in the early hours of Wednesday (September 27), transit there, and then fly to Hyderabad that evening. Pakistan will play their first warm-up game against New Zealand on Friday in Hyderabad.

"It is disappointing that the Pakistan team is facing such uncertainty ahead of the major tournament." We've been reminding [them] of their responsibilities for the past three years, and it's all come down to the last two days, with our first warm game slated for September 29."PCB declaration.
